| well, it's been a VERY long time. i'm still here, still alive and well. just have been quiet on the blogging side - not into these digital updates over the winter but contemplating a return this spring. i think i'll have to find a topic to post on regularly so thinking that over...

| | Currently Watching Little Miss Sunshine By Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear, Chuck Loring, Robert O'Connor (IV), Steven Christopher Parker, Erik David, Alissa Anderegg, Matt Winston, Justin Shilton, Paul Dano, Abigail Breslin, Jennessa Rose, Jerry Giles, Mark Kubr, Grant Hayes, Lindsey Jordan, Alan Arkin, Julio Oscar Mechoso, Cassandra Ashe see related | wow, thanks joy for a fantastic link suggestion. now this is the kind of dialouge it would be great to see more often. didn't see this side of billy graham before. check this interview out (and watch the second half as well). | | |
| the last of the photo's from our travels in june are now uploaded to zaac's flickr site! a nice end to a long week of work - remembering travels in far away places.
tonight i do have an evening to look forward to with 1/2 the girls who went to spain last year! julie, amanda & abbey. dinner in the city, walking to get coffee...gotta love vancouver!
until then, afternoon work on the computer and last minute errands to prepare for shooting photos for a wedding tomorrow (which should be visually a joy compleate with indian sari's and colour in august). this will have to distract me from the fact that my husband will be away on a music gig for a few days. the first time apart since married nearly 9 months ago. will be strange and sad. the good thing about a short goodbye is that a 'welcome home' is soon to follow!
| So my xanga premium ran out but I think I might just be getting a flickr pro account. In the meantime check out Zaac's flickr for the first instalment of our May / June trip to Europe!
In the meantime, this week was nice to take a slower pace after teaching 9-12 year olds digital arts and animation in a 2 week intense camp, having family visit from Manitoba and do photos for a film! The last few days we've had space to plant our first little garden (maybe a bit late but it will be an experiment to see how nice the weather stays in September), watch an old film, have friends over for Mexican food and get started on our wedding thank-you cards. People say it's ok to take a year to finish those right? Hopefully 8.5 months later will pass...
Yesterday was a sad goodbye to a good friend, now flying back home in Scotland after 2.5 years of great friendship and art. Miss you already, Lindsay.
| a weekend full of a more relaxed pace and lots of walking in the city, catching up with friends, BBQs in the suburbs and lunch in the sunshine on commercial drive, my fabulous husband organizing our home a bit more and a potential wedding photography meeting after a long overdue portfolio update...gotta love 'real' long-weekends. we also just got a bunch of our travel photos back so will post later tonight!
we did go and see an inconvenient truth which prompted a lot of conversation with friends about the very obvious changes in our world's climate and environment. a bit scary but really important info that has me going out to fix my bike up so i can start biking to work more. good for the environment and my health! (p.s. what ever happend to the electric car inventions back when we were kids in the 80s? did all the oil money put those projects on hold?)
